Our unique Poststation Zum alten Forstamt is located between the Documenta city of Kassel and the city of Fulda in the heart of Germany. It is relaxed to arrive by car or by train. Altmorschen railway station is only about 500 metres away and within walking distance.
In the post office you can feel the spirit of times gone by at every turn. The house has shone in its present form since 1765, but late Romanesque arches in the cellar vault indicate that it was built in the 13th/14th century. The building was carefully renovated while preserving its historical substance. In the main building, 13 charming hotel rooms have been created - no two rooms are alike - each room exudes a very individual atmosphere.

Arriving by car
Leave the A7 at the Malsfeld exit. At the first roundabout, take the 3rd exit in the direction of the L3224 Spangenberg, at the second roundabout take the 2nd exit and at the third roundabout also take the 2nd exit in the direction of the K15 Spangenberg.
Arriving by public transportation
Destination station Altmorschen. Use the subway under the railway tracks in the direction of the town centre if you are coming from Kassel. Follow Bahnhofstraße into Nürnberger Landstraße. The walk takes approx. 5 min.
